Ok here we go it broke down a couple of weeks ago was told by the AA man that it was showing a coil fault and a fault with the Ecu...

Replaced both coil pack and that seemed to work even the engine managment light went out...

Now it seem to do a bit of spluttering and the radio turns it self of and on at the same time when this happens as if it is lossing a conection of some sort but there no dash lights on....sorry once the managment light came on but it went straight of again.....

Anyone have an Idea to what it could be....

I've got a 1.3 multijet, and it went through a stage of breaking down.... all dash lights go off, engine died, and it ground to a halt, only to start straight back up again

it seemed to be some sort of dodgey battery connection, everything seemed tight and clean... but in a tantrum I ripped the battery off to replace it... the one I'd borrowed didn't fit, so when the blood stopped boiling in my eyeballs I refitted the original... and it hasn't happened since

may be something else, but worth a couple of minutes of checking

Radio going off is often a sign of low voltage. Started happening on my old audi when cranking that was about 6 months before the battery failed completely. New battery and low and behold radio still works while cranking.

Ok today I drove to work stop and went to restsrt it but it just kept turning over i noticed that the key light was not out it stay on and the mileage and clock kept flashing to....I got it started after quite a few attempts ....

I've now taken it to a local garage for a dignostics he say it's showing a miss in cylinder one it has just had 2 new coil packs full set of leads and plugs...so he said It might be the Ecu thats on it way out.....

I will try a new battery to see if that helps start with the least Expensive first as they say....

If it is the ecu does anyone no what's involved in this....

Now the engine managment light is on and it not running on all cylinders...what a peace of **** it is.....

Ok guys got it fixed it was one of the new coil pack it was faulty got it replaced and it seems ok now....fingers crossed...

It completely messes the diagnostics up when the new parts are as faulty as the old ones, was it a fiat part or a pattern part?

The 1.1/1.2s are fairly reliable, usually coil packs/leads or the engine speed sensor.

Also with something like this look at the ignition barrel sometimes momentarily cutting the power to the car.

I have come across loads of crap pattern coils...try telling customer the new part is faulty & they think your at it, any way stick to genuine. However I remember a few years back when the focus was quite new the coil pack failures were a daily occurance and new genuine pack didn't help so you got another & another until you finally got one that worked:rolleyes:

Ok guys it now got another problem...
seems to be missing causing it to spluter seems to be drawing back then just kicks in.....

cheaked the coil packs and plugs ...they seem ok....no fault light on....thought maybe fuel filter but seems these have a lifetime filter fitted....Can anyone help with this one....
