Have a garage that says that the clutch plate and thrust bearing can just about be changed without all the dismantling for £150.
Thrust bearing is whining when released from changing gear. I want to get changed so I can sell it. Its got 94k miles on it and drives great but want lower mileage one now.
Anyoone know if this is possible.:)

hi, does that price include the clutch and bearing? if so it sounds very cheap, i paid £90 for my clutch (inc bearing and pressure plate) then had to fit it. when they say it can just about be changed without all the dismantling, without dismantling what? they will have to take the gearbox off and both driveshafts taken out off the box, so to me thats a fair bit of work, anyway if you can get that lot done for £150 i would take them up on there offer, regards, geoff.

Your exactly right. Quoted £200 for labour and I supply clutch, was quoted this some time ago and didnt realise. I have to find out if my car has a dual mass flywheel and have been advised to change it for standard one. Still seems a fair price to me. I have read about Mr Clutch but have never used them.
Was looking to sell this one as soon as its fixed as would like a newer one so maybe forget about flywheel.
Thanks for your comments.

Well have been trying to locate a replacement flywheel and clutch set for my doblo. It must be a southern thing because my two local motor factors dont have a clue what I am talking about lol.
Got quoted £120 for a clutch set and £375 for a dual mass flywheel. Another quoted me a little less. Its a 55 plate reg lt55 gwn. Anyone got any idea where I can sort the right parts out. I dont want a dual mass one . I can go anywher between Dover and Manchester if the clutch will make it. Help!!!!:bang:
If I cant get it sorted it will go on ebay and sold needing a clutch. Must be honest about that of course.

hi is your flywheel no good or have you been told by someone that it needs replacing? there is a dual mass one on ebay right now,

its not that expensive at the moment and might save you a lot of money, clutch wise i paid £90 for a 3 part clutch (Quinton-Hazel) good quality and that was from my local motor factors. with sensible driving you can get massive milages out of these flywheels, anyway hope you save some money and get you doblo sorted soon, regards, geoff.

that link wont work just type in fiat punto/doblo flywheel in all categories and it should take you to that page.

Thanks for your comments chaps. Only problem I have is that the thrust bearing is a bit noisy. Have the odd judder in hot weather but no problems other than that. Have 95k on the clock and would rather sell the car and get a lower mileage one than spend 700 quid on this one. It goes very well but I was thinking about changing before this happened.
The clutch pedal has no free play and I think I may have been the cause of the bearing wearing out lol.:)
