Technical Dash lights coming on randomly

OK, I'm flummoxed. For the past few days I have noticed when switching off the engine that one or two, or sometimes more, of the warning lights stay/come on after I have removed the key. If I start the engine, stop it, and again remove the key a different light/s may come on. It is all quite random. There seems to be no link to any real fault as they don't stay on when driving.

After three goes this morning I got them all to stay off.

Any ideas? Looks like a software problem to me - I see expense ahead. Is this the first sign of a dying Doblo I wonder?

have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while? it may not work but its got to be worth a try, regards, geoff.

common problem on punto, do as Pupplington says and if still no luck then consider ignition switch.

Thanks both of you. I have been out this evening, and although it happened again in the car park in town, when I got home there was no problem.

Next time I will indeed disconnect the battery and see what happens.

Well done puppington and T. It happened again this morning. I borrowed a spanner from a friend, disconnected the battery for a minute, and now all is working perfectly again.

Just a software brainstorm then.
