Doblo was fine then one morning nothing, not start and battery dead.

Tried to jump but made no difference. Presumed starter or alternator.

Charged battery but didnt attempt start and noticed electrics are stuttering on first turn of key to MAR i.e. Dials flutter, windscreen wipes stuttering. That rules out alternator, starter as these are not engaged and means electrical. I thought a stuck relay might be causing interference.

Removed all relays and fuses from engine and passenger junction boxes except for those two fuses required to switch on instruments and stuttering still on instruments. So thats everything disconnected from battery and still interference unless its the instruments themselves. Looks like i will need to disconnect dials and try wipers

Tested continuity of main battery to earth. OK..although didn't do insulation test. A lot of the engine junction fuse holders didn't give continuity to battery earth, although these use the other doblos earths im presuming.

OK..what i am asking here is.

1. has anybody has experienced fluttering instrument dials ?

2. What systems are active when vehicle is switched off ?

well after reading how the entire ECU and electrical system worked. Testing the earthing and removing every fuse and relay..

It turned out the battery was done and even the AA cover paid for that.
