One of the reasons many of us buy a doblo is for its space however theres nothing wrong with wanting more. I like the overhead parcel shelf at the front and was 'toying' with the idea of fabricating a shelf further back as although it's great having all that headroom it does seem a waste of space than can put to better use?

We successfully used the German kit for the Doblo boot, see forum entry, https://www.fiatforum.com/doblo/27780-doblo-dog-guard-combination.html

You have to supply your own plywood, and the instructions are in German, but I have a Babelfish translated version if anyone's interested.
We used it primarily when we had two dogs and a young child. The dogs went on top, and all the prams etc underneath. I thought it was pretty neat solution. It made maximum use of the Doblo's height, and even let the dogs look out of the back window. We already had the Fiat dog guard.
We never tried it as a campervan bed conversion, but it looked as if it would work, with some camping mats/matresses.

You could use some kind of luggage net fairly easily if screwed to one of the supports in the roof. Then it would push up out of the way if you needed the height for some reason.

yeah that was my kind of thinking but perhaps something bit moresolid?

I looked at this but this would bring the dog higher and more likely to jump over the seats, nothing a dog guard wouldn't stop. I think this is the way to go I reckon:)

I've been thinking along similar lines.
I'd really like to have a ply base not too high above the floor so I can use a few plastic crates on wheels to store my rubbish out of sight & so the dog can travel comfortably.
I really need to start off with the crates then fashion a ply base and some method of supporting it.
The idea of the overhead shelf behind the front seats is a good idea (don't they have this in some other brands (kangoo?).
I've seen the German kit before but I'd rather have a ply base that fits to the contours if possible.
