General New Doblo - first official presentation and facts...

Thanks for the post. I read it in translation, and many of the facts were simply wrong. It isn't 11 inches wider for a start!

I'll stick with my premise that this is a heavily reworked version of the present car, since everything in the photos screams this fact.

However; the prices! C. £17,000 for the Basic Diesel. Is THIS correct I wonder. If so, the new Doblo has just left its market in Britain behind?

I've just found this: looks like the 1.3 is Multijet2, but I haven't read it all yet...

I agree. I was originally looking at a VW people carrier but was put off by the price, insurance etc.
Looking around I was led to the doblo via the berlingo. As I looked at the specs, the comparison site said "also consider..." and I was able to compare the fiat with similar vehicles & the dobbie won the day. dropping 4k for a 1y/o motor really sweetened the deal.
I was thinking I might upgrade in a year or so if there are decent improvements - but not if they overprice them.

Me too. The Qubo would do me fine if it had a decent 1.3 engine with sufficient power, but it doesn't, and nor does it have the essential overhead storage... so Doblo then!

But not at those prices. I may look to other makes too, or the tiny new Fiat with the twin engine, if it ever arrives. I want a roomy car, with easy access, but I could manage with a tiny car if it was slayingly economical. Fiat seems to be in a mess with its specs.

Well done.

It shows how much is carried over from the current car, and how much is new: engines and that independent rear end mostly.

Looks like a very good car. A pity they couldn't find a way of stowing the rear seats, but there isn't any below floor space I guess - not without a new floor-pan anyway.

I dare say it will be a bit quieter, an bit more comfortable, and a bit more economical - with some quicker engines. All good. I just hope the few weak spots have been addressed too.

Anyone knows the wheel info from the new Doblo??

It has 5 studs now!

I'm planning to buy a new Doblo Cargo and would like to know which wheels would fit the new Doblo;)

Interesting when you also watch other youtube vids of the new doblo.
This one has vertical door handles, new fascia (new radio/vents) and the door mirrors only have one supporting arm. Other vids show the same interior as existing as well as same door mirror - but some have 4 fog lights! And the split rear doors on some also carry the spare wheel.
I suspect the variant we'll get sent will be the poor man's version.

I just hope it has intermittent rear wipers, an indicator switch that works properly, and a wiper linkage that doesn't collapse. And Diesel engines with aux. belts that don't collapse either.

They say that only a tiny percentage is carried over, but most of that isn't the visible stuff, I'll bet the underlying components are very similar. I miss the round air vents already.

Winding rear windows and lots of plastic cladding will doubtless be applauded by some, but I would like easier to replace bulbs. And I don't like the smaller mirrors with the integral lights. A narrower A pillar would help too. But the stereo should be improved, and there will be an integrated sat-nav option: all good.

The test I saw of the Cargo commented on the great ride, quietness and handling - which it said was class best.

The price of the base Cargo - short wheelbase, with a 1.4 petrol engine is £11,195, rising to £16.945 for the 2.00l Multijet. So it looks like the MPV version will top out near £20,000. Ouch!

Prices for all the Cargo versions are on Italiaspeed by the way.

think that the thay are the 4x4 doblos wish we had them over hear

Had my new Doblo 1.4 Eleganza for a couple of weeks now and am very impressed. The interior has lots that is familiar, but is very obviously all new. The seat has much more adjustment and is far more comfy, and is also much lower in the car, which seems odd compared to old Doblo!
New stereo is good, although speakers still lacking a little oomph. Oddly they are better when I use the i-pod, connectivity of which is very easy.
Tons of room inside, seems wider, taller yet seems smaller to drive as it handles so much better.
The stop-start system is disconcerting at first but I soon got used to it. Also disconterting is how the rear wiper comes on when the front wipers are on and you engage reverse. Plus the hill start thing which stops you rolling backwards feels very odd!
Really nice to drive, quieter, more stable, there is a clutch rest (hooray) and the only gripe is visibillity over my shoulder.
Ours isthe burgundy colour in a lot of the press shots and looks ace! And it has the red seats and red dash.
Overall we (wife, son, dog, me) are really impressed!
