Would really appreciate some help.

I have looked through many of the previous posts but am unable to find any advice on a power loss problem with a 1.9 JTD in the rain.

Outside of this the engine runs well - 98000 miles - it is only - and then occasionally - when raining it refuses to rev over 2000 rpm.

By leaving the van to dry out and then restarting the problem disappears only to return during rain.

Any suggestions on the possible causes would be most welcome?

take off the ecu leads blast them with WD40 stick em back hopefully sorted,,,,,,

I'm "bamping this" as I've just had EXACTLY the same issue tonight. Can anyone confirm if this fix works?

Could be many sensors which put the ecu into limp mode.
Basically any connectors which may get wet when driving should be unplugged and wd40 then back.
Does it still have the plastic pan under the engine?
