Hi fellow Doblo'ers....!

I have no spare tyre with my recently bought Doblo 1.3 van.

Is it a Space saver issued as standard with these??

If so does anyone know the size dimensions of it??

Have searched t'interweb with no results to its size.

Thanks.

Mike

I have the same problem. My wife ordered a wheel from a dealer but looking at the cage underneath, it definitely looks too narrow for a normal wheel. So a spacesaver it is but like you, I'm struggling to find the dimensions and where to get one.

Hi guys you sure they have a psace saver?
i have 4 Doblo spare wheels in my garden 2 tyres might just be good enough for a spare, remember the cradle will tighten right up with no wheel in,so it may look small.

Regards

Richie

p.s these wheels are 14 inch

There are some manufacturers who feel it is OK just to send you out with a can of tyreweld.
The expanding foam stuff that many tyre places hate with a vengeance and absolutely no use if the tyre shreds. Some seem to think it is fine to rely solely on breakdown companies to come sort you out - I'm sure they'd love to have to drag you around the country just because the makers CBA to give you a spare.

Just checked on my 2006 Doblo Family 1.9MJT - the spare tyre is the same size as the others namely 185/65/R15 as it says in the handbook.

I have an '03 and the 14" wheels look just fine. I did have my spare stolen though; the bastards cut the cage, so now I keep the spare in the back. It was only the cut cage dragging on the road one morning that alerted me.

I simply would not buy a car without a proper spare wheel: period! The fact that they are charging £100 for a proper spare on the new Doblo, of which I haven't seen even one by the way, is just another thing to turn me off it.

Just bought my 3rd Doblo but this one is an '08 and to my surprise, unlike the previous 2, this one has a space saver spare wheel. Anyone know if an ordinary 185/65 R15 will fit the spare wheel space? I know I could try taking one off and trying it but thought this query might save me doing that. Another query I have is whether the 'lips' on the edge of the front discs are normal or do they need changing? The other 2 Doblos I've had looked the same but then I didn't look at them until they had done over 60,000 miles.

Discs lip (or mushroom) naturally, hence why you get your front brakes cleaned at garages and when used heavily expand and can rub the callipers.

As said only change if beyond serviceable thickness or excessively corroded/warped.

Unsure on the year of yours but my 12 plate 1.6 has a spare tyre, although it was an option. Its in a cage under the van and has a nifty little cover over it to stop it getting too dirty. Its a full sized tyre too.

Same with my 2011 came with a full size spare tyre but it was an option.

Space savers. What a grand idea, until you use it!

If it fits in a smaller space, where are you supposed to put your punctured wheel after you've changed it?
