I had a drive of a new(ish) Transit Connect today.
The first thing that struck me was that it felt slightly wider than a Doblo. Not sure if they are, maybe it was because I seemed to be sitting very low in the van compared to a Doblo. More like a normal car height.
This seating position didn't feel as comfortable as a Doblo and after about 50 miles I started to get back ache. That never happens in the Dobbie.
The engine didn't feel as powerful either, and this was made worse by the fact that there seemed to be a big jump from 2nd to 3rd gear, it felt like it needed a splitter.
The one good point was that the brakes felt much more powerful than Doblo brakes, but with less feel. They were like an on/off switch at low speeds.
The steering felt very wooly, not much feel at all.
Over all, the Doblo is a much nicer car/van to drive. More power, better gearbox, more comfort and better handling.
