when driving car sometimes strong sweet smell diesel like and fumes coming coming from under car not out of exhaust spoke to my mechanic when car in for service said nothing to worry about as exhaust has self cleaning fuction but should be ouderless and invisible but is not always case.vehicle seviced and oil changed regulary. is used as taxi 52000 miles and this is now happening at least twice a week has anybody had similar experience and should i trust carage (very good rputation) or get another opion?

dpf warning light comes if theres a fault in system however it regenerates every so often & often leaves a burning smell. This is all assuming this doblo has one, only other thing I can think off is fault in the return manifold (leak)

(doblos normally have aux 'webasto' heater under bonnet)

What do you mean by that? Isn't this heater supposed to heat up the ventilation air in the winter? Everybody I know with the 1.3 MJ doblo have a problem with the heating: if it's freezing outside it will start to heat the air only about 20 min after a cold start, and for at least 10-15 minutes the temperature display stays on 0 position. If you are going downhill with engine brake the temperature display will not move up for 20-30 miles. It really should not be the case if an auxiliary heater is installed.

If there are aux heaters installed on 1.3 MJ Doblo, would it be possible to install one aftermarket?

Auxilliary heaters are designed to heat the water in the engine before you get in the car. Usually controlled by a remote control device so you can switch it on before leaving the house.

Anything is possible but it would be very expensive to retro fit one.

Dave.
