Mrs_G's cargo has been running on Valvoline Maxlife for the past 250,000 miles. A great oil with a 'seal conditioner'. Her engine had a slight weep from the engine which stopped shortly after we changed from fiats oil to Valvoline.

I wouldn't use anything else now.

according to the manual it needs 10W40 regulary.
If driven below -10C temperature you need 5W40 :)

Get this 15W40 out of the motor and don't save your money on oil.
My recommendation:
full synthetic oil
0W-40 Mobil1 (y)

10w 40 semi synthetic Minimum!!!!!!

5w 40 fully synthetic best recommended.

oil costs pence in comparison to turbo's and engines.

my advice change oil and filter immediately , if nothing else it will have had a good flushing!!

Modern turbo diesels are notoriously bad for failing due to poor grade oils, fully synthetic best you can afford every 12000 miles(y)
