Doblo Cargo - Side Door Problem

Hello,

Bought my first ever van this week, a Doblo 1.3 SX (pre facelift on a '55).
21,000 miles, FSH and it's immaculate!
I got it for 3250! I am real pleased with it so far.

One or two minor niggles which I hope to resolve fairly easily, I am not too bad with a set of spanners so should all be doable myself.

The first issue I could do with some help with is that both of the Side doors are very difficult to close when you push them into the fully open position.

If you just open them a little then obviously it's a doddle to close them. Also the tracks seem very smooth and there isn't any resistance to open.

Is there something simple that I am doing wrong? A knack to closing the doors? They just seem a bit too hard to shut.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

you do know that they lock in position when fully open and you have to pull the handle to release them?

Re: Doblo Cargo - Side Door Problem

The handle seems to do nothing on mine, I cannot see how the handle mechanism is linked to the door opener thing anyway, looking in the runners it's just a buffer of metal that pins the door open?

Anyway, I applied some silicone spray lube to the runners and tracks and the doors are nice and easy to close now

Re: Doblo Cargo - Side Door Problem

On my first van I fitted a wooden block to the top rail that stopped it going as far. This also stopped the arm hitting the paintwoork.
The second van I took a file to the lump at the end of the bottom rail.

Yes but do they stay open when you park on a hill, there is a catch/lock under the door that is connected to the handle by a cable these catches get damaged with forcing the door and not using the handle.

Re: Doblo Cargo - Side Door Problem

Yes, seems fine on a hill etc...

I had a good look and could not see a mechanism but I will take the door panel off for a better inspection as could be mistaken!
