The door open warning light on the dash of my new Doblo keeps flashing. I reclose all the doors and tailgate and the problem seems to be resolved, but then within a few miles the darn things starts flashing again. Most of the time it flashes when I'm turning (left or right) or when accelarating from stationery. I'm positive all the doors and tailgate are firmly close and its really starting to irritate me. Any ideas anyone?

Mine has started doing the exact same thing... when I turn to the left and accelerate I get the "doors open" warning and the annoying beep that comes with it.

I took it to Thames Fiat at the weekend and they apparently couldn't find a problem with it. They cleaned the contacts and I said I'd call them today if that had made a difference. It hasn't though.

I'll call them today and get the parts ordered and have it fixed under warranty.

I believe service news/bulletins destined for authorised dealerships should stay that way, if the tech wants to tell you thats up to him.

Funny thing is its so simple if you think of it logically (that'll keep you up awake all night thinking about it:devil:)

Just a quick update. I called the Fiat dealership, told them about the service news 55.15.08 and they called me back 20 mins later to say they'd ordered the parts.
It's booked in for the 25th.

It's under warranty and if they want to spend money on stuff they don't really need that's not my problem. *shrug*

And it's fixed. Although all I see that's different is that the plastic arm that depresses the door closed switch now looks slightly longer.

For those that helped, thank you very much.

And so nearly two years later it's happening again. :-(

Exactly the same symptoms before - when I turn left at speed or even just accelerating in a straight line I get a warning that my rear doors are open.

They're not of course. It's the acceleration of the vehicle causing some physical part of the door closed sensor to move and breaking/making the electrical contact that's required to set the alarm off.

Now my Doblo is out of warranty - would someone be kind enough to tell me what I need to do to fix this problem myself please?

Cheers.

mine does it....used to it however you need to extend the plunger between the door contacts on slide door (doors) by sticking something on to the end of it or on the body side of the contact switches etc..then again you already know this.

Is that all? I thought there might be some sort of jiggery pokery to be done by taking the whole bank of contacts out of the door and re-fixing something. I'll get the superglue and report the results.

Just a quick update - I actually found the small bit of black pastic that the Fiat dealership had stuck onto the plunger last time on the floor just inside the door - stuck it back on and problem solved. Thanks folks.
