My 2002 dobbi has just lit an intermittent light on the dash looks like the engine in red. Is this just a service warning light of am I going in to the relms of oh Kack?

If it looks like an engine shape with a circle round it its is probably the "injection system failure" light, in my multijet version its amber coloured but may be red on yours.

theres no other symbol that can be mistaken for an engine if it stays on theres a fault in supply/ignition system.

No not on all the time. The light is red no circle around or through it, no loss of power, goes out if i turn off the ignition then on again, no other problems associated as yet.
