Sorry folks, I'd previously posted this in the wrong forum.
Anyway had a chance to compare lots of Doblo armrests, at the Fiat dealers, with the drooping one in my new 1.3 Multijet Cargo. The droop meant, that when placed in the down position, the armrest was too low to be of any use as a support or as an aid to smooth gear changing.

My previous Doblo (estate) had it at the correct position but today I found that all those in the Cargos I looked at were droopers but the one in their estate stood proudly to attention. The lady at reception suggested this difference might be a deliberate design modification. Yeah right, when is an armrest not an armrest? When it doesn't support your arm!
It was, as I thought, the pivot bush in the assembly which had been fitted in the wrong position prior to the assembly going through the bonding process.

The mechanic was helpful but I reckon that there is more scope for fine adjustment if I can find a way (maybe heat) of temprorarily softening the bond between bush and moulding and rotating bush position to suit. The re-positioned bush might need some new adhesive (appropriate Loctite variant) to be 100% re-bonded but it should work.
I'll let you know the outcome in due course.
