Hi Folks Have An 06 Fiat Doblo 1.9jtd , Went Down To The Car As Normal But Wouldnt Start , Phoned Aa ,they Were At It For An Hour And Says Its The Key They Wont Start Because Of The Immobiliser ..wiered Or What Before I Go To Fiat Dealer And Get Chrged £1000s Was Just Wondering If Anyone New What To Do Or Had Any Ideas Or Has Happened To Them .. Would Be Gratefull For Some Advice Thanks Folks

occasionally my immobiliser doesn't recognise the key. The padlock symbol stays on. But it will always start if I turn the ignition off then on again.

Isn't it under warranty?

i have the same problem with my doblo can anyone please help what can it be it was fine last night then today it wont strat with p[adlock on the dash i have an obd reader but its not working for some reason worked before no tho, my fiat dealer said with a fiat van its only underwarrenty for 2 years and the third year is major parts only like engine etc please help adam

your code reader will be unable to read the required immobiliser codes, whose your nearest dealer?

nearest dealer is ayr fiat, but dont hold much hope in them and there really expensive where are you based many thanks for your reply. adam.

£40+vat isn't expensive (11 days council tax)

£40 plus vat for what you havent explained

hours diagnostic to tell you whats wrong

Hi did to get to the bottom of this problem? Mine has done the same

it was a wiring fault...cant remember where fault was but wasn't expensive.

I had this problem on My Alfa 156!!
The antenna for the code box was a ring around the ign barrel,and the wire from this to the code box had come loose,so my friend tightend the conections up on the code box and i never ever had the problem again!
been as theyre from the same stable so to speak?? might be worth a peek
p.s i dont know where the code box is on a Dobby but i should imagine if you follow the wire all will become clear.

not got code box mate, has a body computer as its code 2 system.
