Nice one......what faults have you had over the 300K (12.048 times around the earth)
Won't be able to record the odometer as it stuck at 248601 and then went to show -----. Disconecting the battery clears the dashes but the mileage stays the same and reverts back to five dashes after about 0.5 of a mile of driving. Mrs_G has been using the trip meter and records mileage between refueling to keep a running total.
Faults:
1. Wiper mechanism failed at 128K, 23 months. Fiat refused to fix it under the 'unlimited mileage' 24 month warranty. Hence I will never buy another Fiat as their warranty is a con. They are a slippery bunch of shysters. Good vehicle + poor customer service = a package that is of no use to me.
2. EGR valve. Cleaned by local garage at about 130k.
3. Fifth gear 'fell off'. Fixed by local garage for about £70 at about 170k.
4. Clutch failed. Mechanism failed, plenty of meat left on the actual clutch. Fixed by local garage at about 195k.
5. Radiator clogged. Replaced by local garage. Disappointing as the coolant has always been changed as per service schedule. It will now be replace annually. About 250k.
6. Wiper mechanism failed. Second one to fail. Replaced by local garage. About 250k.
7. Brake master cyclinder failed. Replaced by local garage. At about 288k.
8. Glow plug failed. Wouldn't come out of head. Head off and referb. At about 288k.
9. Exhaust. Has broken a couple of times from new but has always been successfully patched up by local garage. This time they advised replacement was the best option. At about 290k.
All in all not too bad for a small van. Bearing in mind it has spent most of its time cruising on motorways or A roads its not all that surprising either. If Mrs_G did a lot more slow speed stop/start driving in towns then I suspect there would have been a much higher failure rate.
Here's to the next 300k.
Million mile Doblo? I wonder if Fiat would be interested? I'd have it crushed before they could cash in on it the bastards!
