HI i have a 01/51 plate doblo van which is in need of repair, problem snapped timming belt at 20/30mph, now i intend to do the work myself, been quoted £25 timming belt £8 per valve can`t remember the price for head set, Question is, is it worth repairing how much would i expect to get for it, it has 103,000 on the clock with 10 months mot, besides the belt snapping it ran well

No way of knowing how bad the damage will be 'till you have stripped the head off and checked it over.
I had a timing belt slip on a motor & every piston crown was gouged by the inlet & exhaust valves.
Every valve stem was bent (albeit slightly). It would have needed a new head & new pistons (the old ones may have suffered underlying damage, making them susceptible at temps/pressures during running). I was lucky enough to get another lump to fit.
Helped a mate the other week, his freelander did the same thing. He got away with 2 inlet & 1 exhaust valve, new head gasket, new stretch bolts & new timing belt.
The work took me best part of a day - mostly stripping accessories! But now the motor runs well again.
