General Finally had enough of my Doblo

Picked up my Transit Connect this morning, first impressions are good, smoother than than doblo and faster acceleration, although my doblo was the non turbo version.
very nice to drive, just need to sell the doblo now

All the problems you experienced can probably be put down to it being a non turbo engine. I have one but I haven't really had much trouble with it since it was out of warranty.
I get embarrassed when snails pass me on the motorway & the engine roars at any speed over about 65mph.
You did the right thing getting rid of it.

Have now done nearly 2000 miles in my transit connect since picking it up on saturday and think it is more comfortable to drive on long distances than the doblo, certainly has more leg and foot room which helps when you have size 12 feet :) only thing missing is the centre armrest which I had gotten quite used to in the doblo

I'm 6'4" (in all directions) and take a size 14 shoe. I find the dobbin extremely comfortable to drive - even on journeys. In fact, I've found that I don't even need the seat fully back (although I do) so if needs be I can give rear passenger a bit more legroom - although they say they have plenty.

Mackd0001 did you get a price for a new pump, i was told to expect to pay around £600 for one, back to your van would you consider a swap for a caravan, as i have an 01 plate with snaped belt i am looking for a van to put my engine into it as it has only 103,000 and swap the heads over or just go ahead and repair mine as it still has 11months mot, i see you have it on ebay what you looking for it can`t be much taking into consideration the cost of a new pump let me no!

depends what your idea of cant be much is, doesnt it, have had about 20 emails from people on ebay offering silly amounts of money, thinking they are doing me a favour by taking it off my hands for £100, the van is only 4 years old does that not count for anything ? , some people want to get a grip, and stop trying to rip people off, at the moment the van is at £510 and should go a bit higher ,
As for your caravan I dont have any use for a caravan sorry,

I AGREE WITH YOU RICH BUT I DO NOT HAVE £600 QUID TO SPARE AT THE MOMENT, THAT`S WHY I OFFERED A SWAP FOR MY CARAVAN, I WOULD BUY THE VAN BUT WOULD NEED TO SELL IT FIRST TO GET THE MONEY, and mack people offering £100 is an insult

My Doblo sold for £830 on ebay, which wasnt too bad, a polish guy bought it , said he was taking it back to poland

You did the right thing getting rid of that useless bit of junk.
Maybe if you had bought the turbo version it would have been a better Doblo. I don't think it will be long before mine goes. At least the MOT isn't due till September.

To be honest it wasnt that useless, 110,000 in 18 months isnt bad going, it took a lot of punishment, and now its my Transit Connects turn :D its done about 2500 miles since I got it and is great to drive lot more comfortable for long journeys and is certainly faster .
