Hi, everyone I am new to this forum. I wish to pick some of your brains. I have a 02 doblo cargo 1.9 diesel (non turbo). The problem I am having is with it starting, It starts fine when it has been left for a hour or so but if it is left for a few minutes it refuses to start. Every thing looks fine the heater light goes out, the engine turns over but it just wont start. This does not happen every time just now and then, so I know when I take it to a garage it will be fine. Can anybody give me a clue as to where I start looking. Thanks in advance Chris.

Re: Doblo cargo

If you still haven't had any luck sorting the problem I would re-post your problem with a different title like, "1.9D starting problem" or something like that, as forum members who are in the know might not have noticed the thread (y) .

Re: Doblo cargo

Thread title changed.

Sounds like a possible electrical fault, maybe with some sort of sensor. Can't think what would cause this though. Maybe someone else will have a better idea?

Re: Doblo cargo

I .took it to a garage today and they plugged it in , it came up crankshaft sensor, the bad news they have to wait for one to come from Italy. They said it would only take 24hrs! , I wont hold my breath. Thanks for all your replies ill keep you posted.

Ignition switch wouldn't really cause it to fault when the engine is hot and only been off for a few minutes...

Crank sensor sounds like it could be the ticket!

Part arrived sat morning, they fitted it and all seems ok. Even better news the owner of the garage bought the van of me, a good price to. Now looking for another one.

Yes hopefully another Doblo if the chap I bought it of still deals with the council he gets them from. Not bad though had it 12 months and it cost me nothing (y) .
