My 1.9JTD ELX Doblo has started to give what sounds like a high pitched audible warning as soon as I hit 60km/hr. The sound goes away again at 50km/hr.
I have done various "experiments", and it is definitely road speed related. It is not dependant on engine speed or load - in fact it remains when free-wheeling.
My handbook only refers to warning lights. Can anyone advise what might be causing this?

Many thanks for the quick replies.
I should have mentioned that it is an old style Doblo (2004). It does not have a mode button, only a trip button and there are no instructions in the handbook for setting a speed limit warning. Also the sound is continuous rather than a beep.

It appears to be comming from the dash ,towards the windscreen.
I'm wondering if my particular Doblo version had the speed warning harware without the actual capability, and some blip in the electronics has set it off.

Yeah I think Fiat would be your best bet (y)

Make sure they tell you what it is before they do anything though, and then maybe get a local garage to do it at half the price! Or if it's under warranty or you can strike some sort of deal sort it out with them :)

I was talking to another Doblo owner a couple of days ago, and he started pressing stalk and dashboard buttons in an attempt to bring up an options menu on my trip computer. He was unsuccessful, but the next time I got on a dual carriageway, the sound had gone!
So, the good news is problem solved, but the bad news is I don't know how. Maybe it just fixed itself, or maybe the guy just happened to press an undocumented sequence that cleared it.
