Yes, I realised that looking at the pictures.
I've seen three companies doing the rails for the dobbin;
direct 4x4, chrome accessories and uk accessories. The last two wanting half the price of the first.
My local dealer tried to sell me some awful looking roof rack for better part of £300.

I've tried to contact them but haven't had any luck so far - anyone managed to buy anything?

Looks like the sites selling the bars are all basically the same, the phone numbers don't work and they don't reply to the e-mails given. Its a same I'd really like a set of theirs for £65 rather than the official ones for £400.

I'm reluctant to order from them now.
If they don't respond to calls they could take your money and not send the goods.
Checked their ebay feedback which is good but they only have 49 feedbacks which seems very low for an ebay shop. They've either just got started or changed their user name.

Had a reply from the ebay shop and through a PM on this site (uk-accessories), both saying "last set at stock, next updating ten days" and that was 12/07/07

From their ebay page..."We are a small team, backed by over 15 years experience "
To be fair, their ebay shop has only been open since mid April and, as already been said, this is a niche market.

 From their 'Me' page...

We ship all orders in perfect condition and we aren't responsible 1 for any damage that my occur during shipment. Please inspect the contents of your order BEFORE signing the delivery receipt 2. Any damages should be noted by the driver on your copy of the delivery receipt and you must make an insurance claim 3 with the shipping carrier to recover damages/loss of shipments.

1 Consumer law says they are.
2 And name one courier who is happy to stand there whils you carefully unwrap a package.
3 The seller contracts the courier therefore it is the seller who makes the claim.

15 years' trading experience & they make wild statements like this?
Doesn't bode well does it?

That's fair enough then, didn't see that bit

Just spotted these genuine aluminium roofbars on ebay.
I really want these but I just haven't got the money at the moment. They're about £170 new from Fiat.

I'm tempted but I've always understood that fuel consumption suffers a bit.
Wondering just how much, I decided to google and found...
7. Will bars make much difference to the fuel consumption?

Yes - as much as 15%, depending on your driving style. Bars on their own can be quite noisy, too. But add a box, and the noise all but disappears, and the fuel consumption penalty improves to around 10%. We recommend that bars are removed whenever they aren't being used.

So, getting 40mpg around town, this will drop to 34mpg or 36 with a box.
If they could be removed quickly, it may be worth getting them for high days and holidays.

That's why I want them. I've got the square section bars and they create alot of wind noise. The ally ones are streamlined, a bit, and cut down on drag.

I ordered some Doblo window blinds from them on Ebay and paid using Paypal.
(They were reduced from £99.00 to £69.00) I haven't received them yet but they did say to allow 7 days. They have answered an email question so I'm not worried yet!! I'll let you know if they arrive, and check the quality. newdog.

Blinds arrived, good quality, Fiat part number etc. These people seem OK to deal with.

These are on eBay now for £75+£15p&p which is great value... I think.
Item number: 220139355604

I have asked about all black versions to suit a standard 'non-bling' Doblo and he's hopeful they would be out in September. If there were a waiting list I'd ask to be on it :)

Mine are, fingers crossed, arriving in the next day or so.

Tango, isn't there a liquid plastic you could paint on? I seem to remember a few years back having a can of something which I dipped all my screwdrivers in to insulate the shafts & some metal-handled pliers also got the treatment.
It may have been called plastic coat, plasti-cote...? I think there is something out to refresh plastic coated garden furniture.

I'm pretty sure Halfrauds sell something alone the same lines....

The bars do look nice, and I think it would add to my Doblo. What do you guys think... or would it make it over the top?
