To save me getting on my hands and knees, do I need to remove the huge plastic sump shield to drain the oil and change the oil filter or is it accessable?

I've read in other threads that the plate has to come off.
Someone said that they cut a peice out to make it easier next time.

hi, having just bought one (well 3weeks)

had to change oil and filter, yes best drop the plastic cover, it wont take long,
be carefull with the sump plug as i had to get mine out with a small chisel and a lump hammer, (dont worry it's not that drastic) just keep away from the sump, but if yours comes out easy great, and its easy with the plastic cover off, to change the filter, shop around for the filters cos you can save 60% via local car shops.
