Hello and this is my first time in this forum. Last night I had a very strange malfunction with my Doblo. At first I noticed that the rear winshield wiper was operation even though the switch was in the off position. I was unable to turn it off. I then noticed that the front wipers would not work nor would the lights. When I stopped the car and turned off the ignition switch the engine continued to run even though all of the dashboard lights turned off. Only when I pulled out the key did the engine stop working. I played around with starting and stopping the engine and also the wipers and the lights but sometimes the engine would not stop even when I pulled out the key. I had to slip the lutch to cause the engine to stall in order to turn it off. The rear wiper continued to run wearing down the car's battery while only the running lights would turn on and they also seemed to stay on. I eventualy pulled out the fuse for the rear wiper.
Has anyone any thoughts about this starnge problem? Thank you foryour help.

Could you tell us what year model etc. Doblo you have?

Sounds like a strange problem indeed! Could be that your body computer is on it's way out as most of the electrical systems go through the body computer on the Doblo, or you could just have a really bad earth problem?

Lots of things it could be, might be worth giving Fiat your hard earned £60 and getting it plugged into a diagnostics machine?

Oh and I nearly forgot - Welcome to the Forum :D You'll have a great time here (y)

Ozzie thank you for your prompt response. My Doblo is 2003 model JTD SX with 65,000 kilometers. I went to the garage this morning and while they were fixing my car I read your response. You were correct with your diagnosis that the ground wire near the air filter was disconnected. The garage soldered it back on for about 55 pounds (translated from Israeli shekel) and sent me on my way. Thank you for your help.
