Hi, Just discovered a puddle of of water in passenger front footwell. The car is a 2008 Croma MkII and left hand drive (as we are currently visiting UK and drove over from Italy – safer than flying in these Covid times).

For the first time ever, water ingress has happened even though the car is 12 years old now. I've checked through previous comments made on here and found several. Moneyfools comment of 2008 with excellent photos seems to be a possible answer. At the moment it is weeing down and everything is smoking wet so will have to leave until things dry up. However, I did notice the plastic trim immediately below the windscreen was filled with water – the tiny drain hole was blocked. I have in the past pinned the hole, but being so tiny, it easily blocks.

I will check what Money fool said when possible but in the meantime if anyone has anything else uptodate on the issue I'd be pleased to hear it.
Thanks, Ray

Thanks varesecrazy,

Dry this afternoon so managed eventually getting the grills off (bloody clips were either stubborn and snapped, lost one in the engine bay and so...!)

Anyway, found a load of water up to the bottom of the pollen filter. Managed to grope about and suddenly water gushed from under car. The big rubber oval shaped drain cup was cleaned out of leafs and gunk. Tried to clear as much junk around the area too.
The top little drain hole was also clogged. A meat skewer clears that one. Would not a longer bit of tubing that sticks right down into the drainage hole be a better idea?
Damage done though as the carpet is very wet inside and this time of year is not good for drying it out. I tried taking some photos, the one looking up under the glove box does show some dribbles where water was coming in. I hope the drainage clearing solves it.

Heater on full pointed at footwear with Aircon on if you have it

Try and leave the car like this as long as possible for the next few weeks to help dry the car outp

Unfortunately.. under the damp carpet Is
Think sound deadening matting..

When that is wet.. you should lift the carpet..
Peel out this matting and let it drip.dry outside for a few days

Had to do this when my heater matrix failed :(
