I'm very paranoid on how long my clutch will last and warning signs when on way out. I have a 1.9 150 multijet 55 plate and it has done 137,000 miles on original clutch. I tend to mainly use on long motorway trips last owner used to tow with it down to italy.

Thanks for reply i can confirm it's the original clutch as the previous owner bought the car new and i asked him. The clutch feels totally fine no noises or thrust bearing squealing. He is a friend so have no doubts. I there any warning before they let go?

Hi My 150 multijet is over 130k and no problems with the clutch. 140k is no problem for a mainly motorway Croma. Clutches are "on condition" you don't touch them until the go wrong. Slipping when changing gears is the sign of a "worn out" clutch. Other failures can cause different problems.
When it does need replacement, if you intend keeping the car I highly recommend chnging the slave cylinder and release bearing. As the gearbox has to come out consider getting the gearbox end casing bearings replaced and the oil changed

They are a known weak point in the M32 'box. If the cambelt hasn't been done get that (with new tensioner and water pump) and you will be good for another 70,000 miles.

Thanks for advice and info i will keep that in mind when the time comes. I will keep the car as i like it too much and allot of the what is it brigade

A year late response, but my Croma 1.9 16v has just surpassed 148,000miles. The timing belt, water pump etc was replaced in September. (2nd time its been done) Clutch seems fine and hope it continues. Car is 12 years old now. Hope your clutch is still going strong.
