Hi All,
I insist to say that the Croma is still a great car. But!! Because there is always a but...
During a trip, the tensioner of the cambelt failed ..
A "breakdown mechanic" checked the car with an OBD and the only alarm was "no fuel pressure" but he also was searching for a cam chain and I told him that the chain is on the petrol models...
It looks simple to think that there is no fuel pressure when the belt is broken and the pump is not working...

I bought and replaced all cambelt kit ,I used the specific tools to have the engine and camshaft in position, no alarm or signal on... BUT :bang: No way to start the engine.
No Noises on the valves, no alarms, everything works BUT absolutely no start !!

I absolutely need some help or suggestions ! :worship:
Anyone has any idea what I can search or check
Or..(my last option ) is there any mechanic able to see my car (I'm in Lincoln)

Let me know guys... I really appreciate who may help.

You don't say if it is an 8V or 16V diesel engine.

On the basis of what you have said I suspect a 16V engine. Either way it is almost 100% certain that the valves have hit the pistons. In the 16V engine if you are lucky the rockets arms have failed (they have a supposedly inbuilt protection/weakness to break and hopefully protect the valves).

On both engines cam belt failure will lead to loss of compression regardless of the correct timing. This is probably why your engine will not start.
