Hi All!

I have a 2005 2,2 petrol Croma. It stopped, won't start, key can be turned, cranks. Dealer says it is a TEG Fault, asked a steering lock module. They replaced it with a used one, but now it not cranks any more.

Can be a used part used w/ ignition key switch, ecu, etc?

Regards,
Csaba

Hi,
The inital fault sounds like an immobiser problem. Was the a yellow padlock symbol on the dash?
Unless a "virgin" new unit is fitted then several ECUs have to be changed because they are coded together. If I recall correctly (my Croma is a diesel) th TEG key reader, Electric steering lock, engine ECU and body computer would all have to be changed as a set if used units are fitted. Was it a Fiat dealer or just a local mechanic?
Not cranking now sounds like a faulty TEG or bad installation. You should get the garage to sort it out, at least to where it was before.
