Hello guys,

When I was driving on the highway, low engine oil level indicator came on the dashboard. I stopped immidiately and checked the level - it was normal. When I started the engine again the indicator came off. Then after few months it happened again when I was driving on the highway. I checked the level it was normal. The started again and te indicator came off again.
I haven't changed the oil or any parts of the car.

I need a help from someone who might know what can cause me this problem:

My car: Fiat Croma 1.9JTD 8V 85kW (2008year)

Does it say check oil level?
If not it's more likely that the car has low oil pressure as that the warning most car's have very few have an oil level sensor

The Croma does have a low oil level indicator. It looks like a dipstick with a drop coming off the end (but could be mistaken for an injector). Message is check oil. Funnily enough mine came on a couple of times last week despite oil level being apparently mid range. It came on at the same point 2/3 of my 10 mile journey to work each time. We have lone term road works here so it's 40MPH all the way. I've put it down to the hot weather and slightly lower oil level. Topped up to full and no further issues. I'm not sure about the 8V but the 16V (mine) seems very fussy about being in a level surface to get accurate oil level on the dipstick.
