According to ePER the part numbers are different.

Mechanically and electrical connections will I think be the same, but can not say so for sure. On the mechanical side it is VERY important to check the length of the injector. You DO NOT want the 2.4 injector when seated to penetrate the combustion chamber any more than 1.9 injector otherwise there will be grief and piston to injector contact!

If mechanical & electrical are OK then one has to evaluate the following:

1) 1900cc divided by 4 = 475cc per cyl
2) 2400cc divided by 5 = 480cc per cyl

So on this info the net capability appears to be the same.

However for any given 4 vs 5 cylinder per engine distance travelled the 4 cyl engine does 1.25 times the number of injections of the 5 cyl engine

All injectors carry a unique code that defines the fuel delivery characteristics of that specific injector. These need to programmed into the ECU to get correct fuelling.

So where does this lead. If the 2.4 injectors are electrically and mechanically compatible with the 1.9 injectors then the ability of the injectors to provide correct fuelling depends on the available "range of control" available to the ECU and the small delta changes required.

In an ideal world the perfectly matched injector size/capability will mean that the ECU has a 0 to 100% pulse width. If the injector delivers twice the fuel per pulse width then to ECU will only be operating over 0 to 50% of its capability. 50% loss of granularity of control.

VW hit this problem with their emissions scandal. I gather the 1.6 engines were fitted with the same injectors as the 1.9. They needed more scope/granularity on the small engines thus needed to replace the injectors.

In your 2.4 to 1.9 case I'm thinking that they will work OK but under certain circumstances the fuelling will not be ideal. There is also the possibility that the ECU will not accept the individual injector codes.

If I were you I would change one injector and see if you can program the injector code into the system. If so then proceed with the other 3.

If the code is not accepted then you are left with just trying to run with the 2.4 injectors an see what happens.

Detailed answer (wrt to information) but I'm afraid no definitive YES/NO answer.
