Technical Back on the brakes again

Quick question for anyone who knows better than me please.








Are the rear brake calipers on the 1.9 8v the same as the Vectra and Signum?




I've had a look through different threads and it looks as though it might be and there's quite a difference between the prices of replacement GM and Fiat parts so I've got my fingers crossed.


My rear right caliper's sticking quite badly now and with the MOT coming up in October it's probably a good idea to change it now rather later.


I'd rather save some £££s if possible though.

Yes they are the same as the Vectra C. There are two versions though. Teves or Lucas. If you PM me your VIN I can see what ePer says.

The LH rear caliper is part No. 735364069 and RH 735364070. From the image on ePer I can tell it's Lucas as it has pressed steel guides.

Pad set is 77363607. A rebuild kit on ebay is www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352096964957
You will have to ask for a Lucas (girling) set for a Vectra C or Signum.

One is made by Teves,the other is made by Lucas.
They are completely incompatable. To change from one to the other you would have to change calipers, carriers, pads, disks and possibly the flexible hoses too. A easy means of identification is the Lucas uses pad guides made from thin pressed steel and the Teves uses wire pad retention clips.

thats only on 1.9 rear or also on 2.4?

They list several different rear calipers. Some are common to the 16V and 20V, some not.

Put it in for the mot today and sure enough failed on a brake imbalance between rear brakes.
RR caliper pretty much solid so will have to change it.

Big difference between croma and vectra/signum/Saab 93 calipers. Is there any way to check which vectra calipers would fit? Price difference is about £100 so I'd far rather spend that cash on something else if I can ?

Do you have Lucas or Teves?
One option is to buy a caliper from Eurocarparts, you can take it back if it is the wrong one.
Go on their website and compare part numbers for Fiat and Vauxhall parts.
