Hello,
I have a Croma 2006 1.9 jtd engine 16v 150 hp and on the last week i had a problem with the car.Sometimes the low oil pressure fault apears on the dashboard and the engine stops.I changed the sensor but didnt work with the problem. Can anyone knows what could be?

Regards from Romania :)

Hi, and welcome to FF, :)

1, check there is OIL in the engine;)

2, clean to connection to the oil pressure sensor

does your car have a filter in the exhaust? ( probably NOT)

Charlie

I check the oil the dipstick show about 3mm under max level.I changed the oil pressure sensor yesterday. What do you mean fillter in the exhaust? You are talking about DPf?
If you are talking about dpf the car has it it and i made a test yesterday and show is 74% clogged.

do a REGEN of the DPF, :)
see if it still has the faults - it is sometimes related to oil quality,

what is the "degradation Index" of the oil..??

The index was about 68%.I thought might by a short between some wires in the engine compartiment. My mechanic said that no faults were found and the low oil pressure doesn't stops the engine will driving.

get your mechanic to put an oil pressure gauge on the engine.Take the switch out and screw it in the orifice.Start at the basics.

Hi, did you eventually find out the source of the problem? I have exactly the same problem. It stalls once in a while with an engine oil pressure warning. The car runs OK after re-starting the car.

I used to occasionally get this problem with my Croma 2005. It would be when the engine was hot, oil hot and say sitting at a junction waiting to turn. Then on takeoff I would be too low on revs and too quick up clutch lift so the RPM would momentarily dip very low, but not stall and then the ECU oil pressure system would kick in and kill the engine.

If you have a high mileage engine then oil pressure/pump performance might be below normal par and then occasionally you are hitting a combination of temperature, viscosity, dipped rpm etc.

Mine ('07 with automatic gearbox) has 130k km. Can it be something due to faulty EGR? ECU shows no errors.
