Hi all, I like my croma stereo, however it doesn't like cdr's. I've heard 650mb ones are useable, does anyone else have this issue? Both main unit and CD changer. Sometimes a disk will work but start skipping after a day or 2

No personal knowledge of your CD unit, but try writing the CD at a very slow speed. When CD writers were 'new' many wrote too fast, and although that unit could read it others couldn't. A slow write speed ensures all data is correct.

No problems with CD-Rs in my head unit, except when the CD has not been closed or finalised properly. Some modern software allows you to add data to the disk later and many older players don't like this. Try a different CD authoring software package and possibly a different brand of disk. Finally use a cleaning disk on the player. CD-Rs may have lower reflectivity than pressed CDs so are more sensitive to dirty optics.

Cleaning disk and slower speed, will give it a whirl ☺

I used windows instead of Nero, works

As an update to my (much) earlier comment, the wife has had trouble with a couple of disks but insists they were all written and "closed" in the same way.
Probably slight variations in the way the standards are implemented by software and hardware.
