Hi all,

Looks like this may be the end of my expensive time with my Croma. After nearly two years I think I'm going to have to give up.

I've just been informed that I need a new Inlet Manifold. The Fiat Dealer in question reckons that this will cost me about 1k for the manifold and £500 in labour. I've already (see earlier posts) had to have a new ignition box, steering lock computer and body computer, A few forced regens, dpf clean, battery and two front suspension springs (along with two shredded tyres).

I can no longer sustain the continued cost and off the road time.

It's a shame because I really love the car (when it works).

I have no idea whether I'll get anything for the car at this time.

(n)

Regards

Gary

Dont quote me,those same inlet manifolds for a vectra im sure are around the 200 quid mark. There is also a company on ebay doing blanking discs to remove the swirl valves and plug the holes. And the 1.9 is a doddle to work on.

Hi Gary our inlet maifolds are £130 on ebay pierburg with gasket they are cheep I believe because they were a faulty design and should have been recalled. A compitent mechanic should be able to change it in for hours. The fuel pump has to be removed but there is no need to upset the cambelt there are two holes to screw two bolts which hold the pump cam wheel. I would super glue the wood ruff key its slot. I changed ours six years ago and about 70,000 miles with no further trouble. Mechanics lke this job it is a good payer!
