Hello,

recently the oil lamp start to pulse and the description was "change engine oil". immediately I bought the oil (Castol TurboEdge Diesel, synthetic full, 5W-40, ACEA). I changed the oil and the oil filter but in every engine startup it repeats to indicate the oil change. is there a sensor or something that must be broken or should I worry?
Please help!
Thank you.

You have to access the main ECU with suitable computer and software.
Here in the UK Fiat dealers will charge about £100 for this.
Two items must be changed, the service counter and oil degredation counter.

There is plenty of informatin on here about Yani's FES software.

Thank you for the advice. I'll try to do as you suggested and let you know.
thanks.

The early versions up to about 1.5 allowed you to do the oil change reset without buying the software so for now you might want to try downloading that to reset.

You can't reset the service counter for free but you don't need to.

You'll need a suitable interface cable from ebay which only costs a few pounds and an old laptop.

I'd also recommend you purchase the latest version of the software and a cable set with the 4 coloured adapters though, it's a great investment.

How did you get on removing the oil filter?

When buying an interface lead for multiecuscan, I'd recommend the ELM 327 type. Make sure it's a "modified" one like ebay item 271275445368. There is a common design fault on these that needs a resistor removed to make them work reliably with all modules on the car. It's well worth buying the full version of multiecuscan. At only €50 it will soon pay for itself.

Recent sweet memories for me now I've get a 500X :D

Whoever thought of putting the filter and oil cooler in that position and a that crazy angle should be made to do all filter changes, for all free, of charge.

I was doing my pre winter oil & filters change last weekend and it reminded me yet again how much I'd like to meet the person responsible.

I also noticed that my flexpipe's leaking a bit but I'll post a separate thread about that.
