Hi, I am a newbie owner of a used Croma 1.9 diesel automatic. The car has been driven 145 kkm. I wonder if it would be reasonable to perform the oil change for automatic gear box?
I have had several automatic gear cars: Citroen, Honda, Chrysler and the oil change has been scheluded in service manual for each of them. But not for Croma.

An oil change will never do any harm unless the mechanic is a clueless monkey with more muscles than brains!

Many cars/manufacturers now state/list/etc that the likes of power steering fluids, gearbox oils, and most of lubrication fluids other than engine are "lifetime" products.

My opinion is that "lifetime" is any period that goes beyond the manufacturer's warranty period by a safety margin determined to minimise base warranty claims.

Todays engineered fluid technology is so so much better than 10 or 20+ years ago so depending on the age of your vehicle etc. then the oil change, tolerance, etc mileage/window will be quite a variable target window.

Doing a change will do no harm, plenty of good, etc.

You are right. The oil change was performed last Tuesday using "Power Flush and Fluid Exchange System".
The old oil was very dark in color as the new one is red. This oil change system is claimed to flush the gearbox without leaving a drop of old oil in. I saw the flush result and I'm convinced that now everything is okay. This is absolutely recommendable to every gearbox .The price all together was less than 300€!:)
