I have recently replaced the cat/exhaust fannymould on my car and was offered a replacement part by Cardiff Fiat stealers for £834 plus vat. They convinced me over the phone that there was no alternative. However I found a dealer in europe (teilezentrale.de) who would supply the GM/Opel alternative for £255 inc delivery. That's a difference of £750 for the same part! Talk about Grand Theft Auto! Be very wary of what a bit of research in Europe for an alternative can produce.

Wise words indeed!! Fiat should stand for-------- "F**k It Anyway Take the customers for more cash if part fails a lot"
Witness air mass sensor-- has become an "exchange "part now and about £20 more than before at least. Bloody license to print money.:bang:

Many of the independent exhaust specialist can supply (like they do exhaust systems) CATs at far cheaper prices than Fiat/GM/etc original vehicle supplier.

In addition the after market OEM parts supply companies can supply CATs etc. but in this case you then need to fit yourself of find a mechanic to do it for you.
