Hello guys! Recently I own a Fiat Croma 1,9 Mjet 150hp with auto gearbox. I want to ask those of you who own the same Croma.... During normal acceleration, approximately at what RPM and speed gearbox shifting gears?
My auto even in very smooth acceleration changes as follows
1st to 2nd - at 1500-1600rpm and 10 mph
2nd to 3rd - at 1600-1700rpm and 18-20 mph
3rd to 4th at 2100 rpm and 40-43 mph - but here something interesting hаppens... at almost 2000rpm and 30mph RMP fall slightly around 1800, and then continues to accelerate until it reaches 2100 rpm and 40mph and after that upshift to 4th.
from 4th to 5th - at 55mph, and from 5th to 6th at 65mph.
Is this normal for this box... I know it is a selfadapt gearbox, but I reset self adaptation, after I bought the car :)

Mine is a 2.4, the manual override aways works if the speed and revs are within the scope of the box.

The Aisin is a brilliant auto.

Yep mine is the same... in manual mode I can't upshift if the revs and speed are too low. It just make a beep sound :)
What bother me was that I had read somewhere that the same box but in other brands of cars, upshifting at lower rpm and speed....

Changing from 2nd to 3rd the box would lose drive for half a second. The revs would go up, obviously, and then it would change into 3rd with a massive whack! The only way round it was to use the tiptronic and lift off between 2nd and 3rd to keep the revs down.
