With the 1.9 auto I get 47 mpg on a run with cruise set to about 75 mph.

Around town about 28 mpg.

Did a tour around Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium (about 2000 miles in total with a fully loaded car) and averaged 40 MPG overall.

The 2.4 won't be that much different.

I don't think there's any need to keep the speed down while the engine's cold - keep the revs down, the speed doesn't matter IMO ...

I’ve come to accept 42 av.mpg as the norm for my driving.

I’d be uncomfortable with “revs down” from cold starts – could be fatal as well as embarassing.

Unfortunately, all I came across so far, ended being bad deals. Second key missing, no history, strange documents or panorama cover not working.. :bang:

Difficult to find one with a real history and good price in the same time..

Panorama cover? Do you mean the sunroof? None of them work, unless they've been reconditioned within the last month. Leave it shut, don't worry about it.

yeah, the sunroof as well as the sunroof cover which is at interior.. shut is anyway because the motor is dead.. :yuck:

Is Emotion model a top one? I'm still searching and I found a 2009 2.4jtd emotion model.. don't have yet the VIN and the seller didn't added yet full specs. and just wanted to have an idea of what has.

I'm in between the above one and a 2006 Prestigio full option 2.4.

There are differences between European and UK models. Most of us on this site are in the UK. We just had Dynamic (base), Eleganza (middle) and Prestigio (as posh as a Fiat gets!).

It may be that Emotion is the equivalent of one of the three above, or could be different again.

On top of this, almost every difference between the trim levels was also available as an optional extra. It seems that many Cromas did get optional extras fitted when new, so you get all kinds of mixtures.

There's a link to the UK brochure from around 2005-ish below...

I have just put Fiat Croma Emotion into Google. It came up with a video on You Tube for a 2007 2.4 Emotion with the "new " continental facelift.

One of these would suit me down to the ground if they sold them over here, I am jealous of you continental brothers!!!;)

That makes sense. So is the Emotion the top, middle or bottom?

What were the other two names replaced with... Insecure, Neurotic and Emotion? (credit: Aerosmith).

The main thing Fiat got wrong with the Croma, in a marketing sense, was to call it the Croma!!
After taking "one hell of a beating" with the previous one (deserved or not) it must go down as one of the worst company marketing decisions of modern times.
Whilst I realise that certain car makers have "reserved" a whole battery of names as theirs, I am sure Fiat must have had a few other names up their collective sleeves?
My personal favourite would have been Idiosyn--Indiosic-- Ideosink----------One Off !!!

I thought the 404 was a top-secret Peugeot-Fiat collaboration. A world-beating combination of French build quality and Italian reliability.

I'll buy one - I was daft enough to buy a Croma, so why not.
