Finally found a 2005 Fiat Croma 1.9 Multijet Prestigio paid £1650 for it 135000 miles 11 months MOT 6 months tax and a Full History with reciepts :D,everything is ok with it except for a problem that the Heater does not work which the seller knocked £200 off:( ,car is booked in for wednesday, car drives really nice except for a bit of suspension clonking which is all ok,Hoping it's not too much of a money pit:cry:

Does the temperature gauge rise after a few minutes driving? It should go up to the centre (vertical needle), then stay there.

Does the fan not work, or is it just blowing cold air?

It doesn't sound like a major big deal either way, enjoy your new posh car. Tell us more, all will be solved :)

Could be the electronic control board right up behind the glove box. I had a water leak which nearly caused a fire, burnt a hole in the board. The controller was about £90.

Hello, and welcome to Dante's Seventh Circle of Hell.

It may sound like a well used cliche, but Croma ownership is a real rollercoaster ride. After nearly 7 years of ownership part of me would like to be rid of it, but I just don't see anything out there that can replace it.

Have you ever been in a relationship with a really gorgeous woman who is just bad for you, you know, the really high maintenance kind? It's like that.

Hi Doofer the needle goes up to centre stays for a bit then drops slightly but never goes above halfway, the fan doesn't work though i do have a little warm air so not totally frozen :),keith i live in Cotswolds !,anyway how will i know if it's the ECB carpets aren't wet ?.
The car goes into the garage on weds so i will keep you guys in the know !.

The thermostat's probably OK then by the sounds of it.

The blower fans are prone to packing in, I put a new one in mine recently, now it's lovely. It was making annoying noises for a while then eventually died. I got one cheap off ebay, which was Euro Car Parts brand and it was complete crap. I returned it for a refund. In the end I got a genuine non-climate control one (which is much cheaper) and swapped the motor/fan into my original housing, and swapped the controller over too. It takes a torx screwdriver and literally ten minutes including giving the old housing a good clean. The controller just plugs in, no wiring needed.
