Re: dodgy gumtree ad

Bloomin eck - the swindling bastards.

Have you called the police? You should, and demand they trace that mobile number and do something - that's attempted fraud.

There's also a chance that there is a cloned version of your car that's for sale - I know you have posted photos with your reg no on.

Or I guess there's a chance they're selling another car that's the same colour and couldn't be bothered to take photos of it.

Just some google fodder for anyone thinking of buying it then...

GY55THZ READ THIS

Serves the lazy/dodgy bugger right. At best it's a "private" seller who's suddenly decided to sell all his 9 cars at once.

Go on - elaborate, you've lost me.

By mmmm are you implying that the cars taste nice?

It's simple really:

Trade seller = have to comply with sale of goods act and pay tax.
Private seller = sold as seen and no tax to pay.
Private seller selling 9 cars = dodgy bugger.

We're being sexist assuming that Stephanie is a "he". There's equality these days - women can be illiterate rip-off scammers too.

although i got my punto off gumtree, it took a few weeks to find a decent car (for under £500 with MOT!), and went to see 3 dodgy astras in the process that sounded good but were faulty and not as described.
lots of fake ads, price rising ads etc on gumtree. as well as the odd practical joke ad - like - moving abroad, free/cheap as chips car, has to be gone tomorrow. probably someones mates car put on as a wind up with their mobile number, or maybe just their mobile number.
lots of faulty cars for sale on gumtree.
also went to see an astra that the seller turned into an auction which he invited 16 people along to the viewing.... only i missed it. i was the first to reply to his ad, and arrange a visit, but cos he got loads of call, he invited them all along! he got 50% more than the asking price. But that car was for sale again on autotrader a week later.
lots of games on gumtree.lots of games.:(
