Hi All,
Just thought I'd put up a quick post singing the praises of a VAG KKL cable and most importantly FIATECUScan 1.6.

I'd put my 8v 1.9D in for a service at a local mechanic and he'd been unable to reset it with his tool but after plugging in my laptop and running the diags it went from 4 oil changes, 17% deteriorated and 8,500km to next change; to 5 oil changes, 100% and 50,000km respectively after I used the oil replacement acuator (F6) a couple of times (first time failed with a failed to execute message, 2nd time no message but clearly it worked as the numbers changed). Current mileage is 56k. :slayer:

The ECU is a Bosch EDC16C39.

DPF is showing 60.53%, normal clogging and 1118km average last 5 regens at 534 seconds. All of that despite the main dealer pretty much condeming it last Spring as they couldn't get to the bottom of what turned out to be the standard EGR problem which made the car pretty much undriveable (a problem solved thanks to the kind, knowledgeable and helpful people on here - thanks again guys :worship:).

Can't work out how to reset the service indicator as it's still showing Serv. 0mi on the dashboard (as it had been for maybe 6 weeks and 1000 miles) but I don't think that's a major problem. The service light hasn't came on yet and the DPF has continued to regenerate. Still, if anyone knows an easy way to reset it....

Hi Brian

Do not confuse Oil change Reset and Service Reset - they are totally different AND separate. Service reset is mileage and time dictated whereas Oil change interval which is NOT time related is calculated by the engine ECU depending on how the car has been driven.

I've never heard of a Croma asking for an oil change at anything less than 12,000 miles and in most cases 18,000 miles (which is the recommended max interval) appears to come up before the oil change light comes on.

Hi S130,
It hadn't been changed for about 15 months and I needed the fuel filter changed anyway so it made sense to get it all done together. Still had 8,500Km until it needed to be changed though.
Don't know where I'd be without ECUScan though but it's not clear how to reset the service counter. I don't thhink it matters though as the oil counter's reset.

Don't worry about the service indicator - leave it to nag for a while then it gives up and goes away (permanently).

Unlike the oil change indicator, it doesn't have any effect on the running of the car - it's purely to tell you to give your Fiat dealer some money.
