re: Reg ST56 SOE

do you mean ST56 SOE that is on ebay at the moment?

thats it:eek: i went to see it today as i was in Watford anyway rang the mobile number and no answer, rang the contact number on the ebay page and it was a fiat dealer, but he said the croma is at the skoda dealers, Anton is on day off but if i went there some one should be able to sort me out. i went there only to be told no one else could show me it so all i could do was go to this compound around the corner and see if the place was unlocked.

paint on front feels like sand paper when you run fingers over it, its so dirty though cant tell if it just needs a good claying or if its been sprayed by some one like me

so i went and found it, compound was unlocked, its very dirty left like that so you cant see condition of it i think, there are more marks on it than they list rear bumper is going to need a respray, one front fog light is smashed, and it needs full set of disc's and pads, front and rear are very worn.
in side looks very tired like its may be been smoked in a lot. ive spoke with one of the fiat tecks on here, and they say roof could cost quite a lot of money to repair too :(

Re: Reg ST56 SOE

I gather that if the Croma sunroof/sky dome/or whatever it is called needs more than superficial repair then to replace it requires it has to be cut out of the roof and a new one welded in.

Now this is what a Fiat dealer told me when they took a Croma in in part exchange and the salesman did not check the roof mechanism. They wanted to sell the car on their after sales forecourt as in all other respects the car was excellent but in the end just lost it in the car auction business thus saving themsleves roof replacement and ongoing warranty costs.

As I'm not experienced or familiar or own a sky dome Croma (Panoramic Roof) then all I'm saying is that one should be careful when purchasing. It is also true that WD40, silicon lube and a little TLC can totally rejuvinate the most stubborn of mechanisms.

Re: Reg ST56 SOE

auction finished now looks like some one got a bargain, i cant see no washer head light jets does that mean it dont have hids?

Do any have HIDs? My Prestigio doesn't.

someone called dave:devil:

just got back from picking it up. i dont think it has been smoked in just really dusty, they didnt even wash the out side.

think i am driving it wrong on the way back didnt get more than 45mpg showing on dash, was stuck in traffic on m25 a lot of the time though. it was very empty when i picked it up i put £25 in at £147 a litre  and drove from watford to colchester and it said warning low fuel :(
i also kept trying to drive it like a punto with cvt foot flat to the floor to pull away, but nothing happened for a few milliseconds in croma

i hurts my back bad i hope i just need to find a better driving position

Looks about right – the re-fuel nag light kicks-in at 8(±1) litres. Given an input of 17 litres (from “very empty”) then your home run could have burned around half of that.

The 45 av.mpg maybe a comforting sight – although from re-set early `black-box’ read-outs can rapidly fluctuate before settling down to the longer-term view. I’m getting around 42 av.mpg measured over around 400 ml intervals.

I recall during my first few days (Sep09: 102p/L!) I briefly saw 46 av.mpg – but then I was still converting from Punto `tootle’ style to Croma, & before I was spooked by EGR/DPF stories.

What are your read-outs? range? trip? etc etc

Re: Reg ST56 SOE

I never saw your ebay listing, so please tell us what you've bought, and how much for.

Mine's an ST56 too, so our cars must be brothers. It must have been born at Arnold Clark in Dundee like mine.

Still in my [completed listings] - save-on the gagging order Dave - Jan2007 Prestigio 150, went for just shy of £2.9K, competition dropped-out at £2.7 & £2.8K.

.

Re: Reg ST56 SOE

That price sounds spot-on to me. Well done, you've got a cracker there.

Mine is also a 56-reg Prestigio 150, and was £6k almost exactly 2 years ago. At the time, it still had 6 months of the original warranty remaining, so that was a big plus.

So £1500/year depreciation then. That's not bad for any car, especially considering the previous owner lost £5800/year (if he paid list price).

Have you dared to try opening and shutting the sunroof yet? The emergency cranking handle is inside the rear interior light - check it's there before you try it. The manual says it's in the glovebox, but there's an errata sheet to correct it. It's like an allen key. When I buggered about with mine I inadvertently taught it that it was closed when it wasn't, and couldn't do anything with it after that. Mine had full surgery with a new mechanism under the warranty.
