General bargain in glasgow

Through the blur I think I saw a No Smoking sign on the dashboard. Suggests hire car / taxi / courtesy car.

Otherwise, it looks like a good buy. The price is probably about right - a lot of car for the money as they say.

Dumb question, but whenever I search for 'fiat croma' on gumtree it always comes back with nothing, even though I know they're on there, and if I follow a link to a croma on gumtree I just get a page with 1000s of fiats on it. So, er.. how do you search on gumtree??

There probably just weren't any on there when you were searching, so it reverts to showing near matches. If you search today you'll find the one and only one on there.

Cromas are very exclusive cars, only for a privileged elite. The chances of finding one either on Gumtree or in Glasgow are pretty slim.

I just realised that after posting the Q.. spent all last week searching Gumtree and coming up with nowt.

Yep, I've concluded that Croma drivers must be very special individuals :ROFLMAO: And there's a scary chance I might become one  Hopefully the bank won't approve my loan request !

They might think you're wasting the money if you tell them it's for a Croma. Tell a white lie and come up with something less crazy to tell them - perhaps tell them you're going to use the money to buy a sack of cocaine.

Laughing aside, I think we are. We haven't followed the sheep down the path to VW, BW, Audi choosing something more individualistic. In the last year I've seen more Bentleys than Cromas

Definitely, on the commute its just a steady stream of the same few Audis, VWs, Fords etc. Just because Jeremy Clarkbecile gave the Croma a very poor review in the Times when it came out, all the other journalists parrotted the same nonsense (it doesn't know if its an estate or an MPV... its not a Mondeo... etc.. so what?) and the fleet buyers stayed clear.

The rarity factor is a worry for a prospective buyer - parts issues for starters. I thought it might mean higher insurance premiums as common parts like wings, bumpers etc could be scare in the UK, I got a quote and it was very low though. Maybe premiums will rise over time as insurers have problems with repairs?

Who cares? People with discernment and intelligence know fine well what it is.

Don't worry. There are plenty of them in Europe, so body (and other) parts are not a problem. However, it does sometimes mean waiting for them to get here. I have just sourced a front downpipe from Germany at only £12 postage.

Many other parts are common to the Vectra (e.g. EGR valves and such like)

Not really, quite a few cromas were sold north of the border.

Interesting that you say that - I bought mine from Scotland. It was worth taking a day trip to buy it, it was that good a price. Flew up, drove back.

Perhaps the Scots are less vulnerable to marketing than the English.

If he used a proper camera for the photos instead of a mobile phone he might have a better chance of selling it. Looks like an 8v dynamique.

Cheap price is due to them having tried to deep fry it. :)

Nothing wrong with a mobile phone camera... providing its a good one! :p

[edit: Couldn't find a photo of a croma so here's nearest thing]
