For the second time in a week my boot lock has blocked itself and I was not able to open the boot either by remote or by hand. First time service unblocked it from inside the trunk and sprayed some WD 40 oil to lubricate. Second time I crawled into the boot and as soon as I pushed the screwdriver into the lock from the inside it opened yet it would not open otherwise. I can hear the motor clicking both when I use the remote and my hand on the handle but it does not open. Question is is this mechanical or software related boot lock problem and what could be a solution to not have to crawl into the boot every once in a while? There is no obvious rust or debris in the lock itself and I repeat I hear it clicking. I'm puzzled, thought anyone?

If when you press the boot handle or the remote you can hear the boot lock solenoid fire then this is good.

You said WD40 worked and poking with a screwdriver worked.

This tends to point to a possible mechanical loading probem, often caused by incorrect boot lock to clasp alignment (in/out/left/right). I would initially check this carefully AND any adjustable rubber buffer stops.

The boot lid should be very easy to close, not require force or rattling, just tight enough to gently but fully engage the rubber seal, and not loose enough to rattle.

If this is all OK then you will have to remove the inner panel and observe the whole works to see when it is going wrong.
