I'm trying to order a touch-up kit for a few stone chips, and need the colour code. I've looked:
  • Under the bonnet
  • At the underside of the bonnet
  • One the inside of the boot lid
  • In the spare wheel hole
  • Around both front doors
  • Inside the fuel cap cover
...and can't find a sticker anywhere. There is a punched metal plate under the bonnet, but I don't think that contains the colour info. On other cars I've had there's been a computer printed paper sticker somewhere.

It's Flamenco Red, which is code 293 in the brochure. The online paint company only lists 293A. I just want to check whether mine is in fact an "A".

Under the bonnet for me.

Your chassis number will reveal (when looked up on ePER) what your manuafactured colour is.

Is that on the underside of the bonnet, or somewhere in the engine bay? Is it on the metal tag or a paper label?

Cheers

Ah. In that case it's the second row of numbers on the metal plate on the front crossmember, under the bonnet. The paint code sticker should be affixed on the inside of the bonnet, on the left as you're looking at it from the front. As an aside, my paint colour in the brochure is 698 but under the bonnet it says 698/A - perhaps Fiat are just trying to confuse everyone..!

HTH.

Cheers all, found it now thanks to your help.

I was being blind/daft/in too much of a hurry.

It's in the left front corner of the underside of the bonnet. I think I actually had my hand on it when I was looking - duh.

It is 293A. I guess they just don't bother with the A for the brochure.

Good luck with getting a Fiat Touch-Up kit. My 698/A Grigio Sofisticato Met. (Lounge Grey Metalic) has been on backorder with Fiat for over 2 years.

I now have to resort to custom independent mixes! Last lot came from an Fiat bodyshop in Italy. Halfords claim they can also provide with their 'in-store' paint mix service.

Halfords said that the colour code was listed, but the recipe was a blank screen, so said there was nothing they could find out and sent me away.

Got a colour-matched scratch repair kit from www.paints4u.com. Excellent value at £13.69 for a complete repair kit including paint. Have made a reasonable job of a number of stone chips. Really don't like wet-or-drying the paintwork though, although it is what chip repair companies do too. Managed to rub through the lacquer on one spot - will have to rub some lacquer on it.

Better than having holes in the paint I suppose.

It's a reasonable colour match, but not perfect (too dark). I've never seen a good match on metallic on any car without fully respraying though.
