Technical Croma interior door handle

If you find that its the plastic internal spring seat that has broken then look at my reply to a post from 13/9/2010 it tries to explain the travails I had . Watch out when you lift the switch plate on the door pull. I had to resort to Araldite :-( but its still holding ok and the spring "mod" I did has been a success .

I bought a trim removal multitool thing from Halfords today and popped the door card off, starting from the bottom.

As expected the silly plastic clip thing was broken - really that would be underspecced for a toy gun in poundland - so I took the door handle out of the card and used Araldite to stick the parts back together and some of the putty stuff B&Q sell to mould around it.

It seems pretty solid now, hopefully it'll last for a while.

Got the whole thing refitted in no time.

Thanks again to everyone for your encouragment and ideas once again.

If you take some of the tension off the spring it stops it snapping back shut like the cash drawer on Arkwrights till . Its this that breaks the plastic on the handle.
