Considering you have now done 80K have you done your cam belt change around 72K? Says 90k in manual, but that is too long for the water pump according to multijet fans! Was the water pump, Cam Belt, Aux Belt, Thermostat, Tensioners and Pulleys...any of them GM parts.

Now over 81k The timing belt has not been changed yet and I'm aware that it would be prudent to look at replacing this and the others asap. Unfortunately with the amount I've just spent recently I'll have to risk it until after Christmas. The water pump issue sounds worrying are there any warning signs before it packs up?
Incidently do I have the highest mileage Croma on the forum?

Hi, Sorry to jump in on this, but I have a 2006 Croma Prestigio, (1.9 Mjet). The Fiat dealer tells me that the front pads and discs require replacing now(26k miles). I have been quoted £480, I haggled (as they fitted a new servo under warranty as the brakes have been binding) and now they have said £340 this still sounds high or is it me?

So the rear arms are they vectra or signum?

I need a front offside caliper for my 120 croma anyone have any ideas if this can be sourced from VX? Fiat quoted £180.

Are the front arms on the vectra C all the same?

The Croma shares its platform with the Signum and Vectra Estate, not the saloon - it's to do with axle weights. Curiously, the shock absorbers are the same for all non-SRi vectra saloons / estates & signums but the springs are different weights..? Rear arms should be Signum items.

Best bet would be to look at Signum parts from the equivalent model, if you go to one of the brake websites you may be able to work it out by comparing disc diameters etc. The front suspension is shared across all vectras & signums, the only caveat is to choose parts from an equivalent model. I, as usual, am completely stuffed because Vauxhall never did a 2.4JTD vectra

As a last resort, find the part number on your caliper etc and google it - it will be a GM number.

Hi Hellcat, It is the 150 with the 305mm front discs. I have been quoted £291 inc vat for non OEM & at the same garage £365 inc vat for OEM.

Fiat want £340...

Cheers

wow, i only paid £250 for my FIAT ones.... how can different fiat garages charge such a difference for the same thing

i have a Croma 1.9 8v 2006, The osf coil spring was found to be broken when I took it in for the first MOT ( 22/4/2009) Went to fiat hoping to get it repaired in the next few days they can not get the part untill the 26th May. My question to all out there are the springs interchangable with any GM model.

All Vectra C and Signum, but you need one for the appropriate axle weight. Vectra C springs are notorious for breaking..!

Thanks for the reply DoIdon'ti
being a bit thick when it comes to cars how do I know the axle weight. When I look at the parts for thr vectra c (Sigrum) it just comes back with one part No.

it seems that fiat dont keep any parts for thr Croma 2 in the Uk and when it comes to suspension parts none are held by fiat in Italy they rely on the suppliers, so if we want to keep these Cromas running we need to start talking GM parts numbers to each other, I have traced brake part Nos and will post them on the Thread in the near future. Because my croma is being repaired under warranty I have to wait for the part to arrive through the Fiat system. My car has now been off the road since 24th April.

The axle weights are on a plate fixed to the front structure of the car, under the bonnet - they're also in the owner's manual in the 'specifications' section. If you search for "axle weights" on www.vectra-c.com then I believe that should clarify things. If all else fails then get suspension bits for a 3-litre diesel Signum and you won't be far off. There's often someone on the Vectra forum selling springs as they often get swapped for Eibach lowered and stiffened ones.

A quick search on eper for the part number (55195392) then putting that in Google says that this part number is shared with the Alfa 159 and should sell at approx £169. I'd advise caution because when I've searched for other parts in the past on Google there have been GM alternatives listed by third-party manufacturers, but in the case there aren't.

Which doesn't mean there isn't a GM alternative - sorry I can't be more helpful! If you have the luxury of time then the specifications for this part are listed on the net, you could try taking them into a motor factors and comparing them with the GM item?
