Hi. Toying with the idea of getting "sensible" and getting rid of my Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 (lpg) and replacing it with a Croma. I have had many a Fiat, Alfa and Lancia and like the products - which are far better than the UK motoring press would have you believe. Anyway, couple of questions if anyone can answer?

What is the difference, or main differences, in spec levels -
Dynamic, Eleganza and Prestigio.

Fancy the 200bhp auto Prestigio (funnily enough) but presumably the 150bhp manual has decent enough performace with considerably better economy?

Finally, how much is road tax on the diesel options?
Many thanks!

From the 200BHP perspective;

I get 460 miles to a tank (until the 'low fuel' message comes up) commuting 3 miles on mainly A-roads . Road tax is £210.

For the specs see http://www.roadsidegarages.com/newmodels/CROMA.pdf

The 1.9 16V manual IMHO gives the best performance/economy compromise. I tow a 1400KG caravan and can't drive a manual for long distances so performance and a good seating postion were paramount.

HTH.

I have the Prestigio 1.9 JTD Auto.
150BHP.
Optional sun roof fitted.

Now would not go back to a Manual now.
MPG not as good as a Manual of course, but not
changing gear makes up for it.
Quiet, comfortable, a very underated car.

I have a Eleganza 1.9 Mjet 150bhp.
I have no need for a sun roof as i have dual zone climate control.

Mpg is less then my Bravo which was about 52MPG.
I did think about the Prestigo but i did not want a Automatic car.

The croma is a great and comformtable car, it's so easy to drive and it's a shame that there are not more Croma's about.

The Croma 1.9 16V Eleganza model is pretty damn good. Not a rocket out of the box but well performing both in grunt, speed, acceleration and comfort.

These comments are based on my/our current fleet of Starda Abarth 13TC and Barchetta, and also on our last Stilo 2.4 Abrath, Coupe 20V, Punto HGT and other models.

Like others I tow a caravan (1000kg) around the UK plus the compulsory trip to Italy every year.

The rear tyre wear issue is the ONLY criticism I have and I'm hoping that I'll have sorted that myself. Time will tell.

Hi anyone got an update on the rear tyre issue? Also my croma 2.4mjt 200bhp is up for sale, the car has all the manufacture optional fitted plus FIAT - Brink detachable tow bar.
