Hi Guys,

I have just got my car back on the road after a long time in the garage with a little help from the guys at motormech, and i have noticed that it is pulling to the left slightly when i accelerate hard! My car is a 20 VT and i remember reading something about this problem somewhere, but cant remember where! can anyone suggest what the issue maybe, or where to find out whats up?

sounds like it could be something suspension related, how severe is the "pull" cos i know my 16vt does it slightly at times if accelerating hard, that could be down to the 17's tho. Have you checked the track rod becasue i had this problem when easing off the throttle and when i replace the rod end it cured the problem
 
When did you last change the wishbones? If it wasn't in the past 4 years/30,000 miles I'd get them changed anyway, probably sort your problem but if it doesn't it wouldn't be a wasted job as in my experience they wear very quickly, and cause similar symptoms.

hi chris have you had your tracking checked? what was it in the garage for?
 
the car was in the garage for the mot and service, i have had the track rod ends and wishbones changed last july as they were shafted!! it only seems to happen when i boot it to 6k revs in 1st and 2nd!! the tracking was checked also last july when i had all of the tyres changed, and the tyre pressures are checked weekly!

have you got matching tyres? could be torque steer?:slayer:
 
they are all the same, they are eagle f1'S, bought them as i heard that they were the best for the wet weather, and living in manchester, i get a lot of wet weather!!!
 
The problem sounds like tracking. Also, you may have the same tyres, but check for worn tyres! (y)
 
I also have had the same problem with my car pulling to the left & right and was told that due to the power of car ( 20vt ) and being fwd that when you stick your foot down it tends to wonder! it is known as torque steer.:D
